Our March meeting of the Air and Waste Management Association, Rocky Mountain States Section will be held THURSDAY, March 12th, 11:30am – 1:00 pm, at the conference center in the Century Link Building in downtown Denver, 1801 California Street. Our guest speaker will be Don Shattuck of Halker Consulting. Don’s presentation will cover a summary of the technologies that can be used for reducing CO2 from coal-fired power plants. The presentation will discuss IGCC, oxy-combustion, and the organic and inorganic based post-combustion technologies. Economics of the IGCC and post-combustion technologies will be presented.
Don Shattuck is a Senior Environmental Engineer with Halker Consulting LLC. He joined Halker Consulting in February 2014, after working at Zachry Engineering for nine years as the Air Quality Control System Program Manager. Previously, he worked at Arizona Public Service for 10 years as a senior EHS auditor and 19 years with Stearns-Roger Engineering. Don graduated in 1970 from CU Boulder with a degree in chemical engineering. In 1990 he got his juris doctor from the University of Denver.
