The Rocky Mountain States Section – Air & Waste Management Association (RMSS-A&WMA) is hosting a one-day Air Quality Technical Conference at the Denver Marriott West, 1717 Denver West Blvd., Golden, Colorado (located on the North side of I-70 at Exit 273) on Thursday, October 7, 2021.  The focus of this conference is on current and future air quality issues affecting the Rocky Mountain Region and may include emerging regulatory and policy trends.  This will be the 7th Air Quality Conference hosted by the  RMSS-A&WMA in the past 15 years.    

RMSS-AWMA is hereby issuing a Call for Abstracts for the October 2021 conference.  The time allotted for each presentation is 15 minutes with an additional 5 minutes allocated for questions and answers.  The Abstract Submittal Deadline and Submittal Package requirements are listed below:

1.      Abstracts will be accepted through Monday, May 3, 2021.
2.      Authors who previously submitted abstracts for the original RMSS 2020 conference are welcome to resubmit updated presentations for reconsideration by the Technical Conference Content Committee.
3.      Abstracts shall be approximately 150 words and the submittal package shall include:
A.      Title
B.      Author(s)
C.      Affiliation
D.     Author(s) contact information (e-mail and telephone number)
E.      Brief bio of the author(s) – about 100 words
4.      Topics of Interest as they affect the Rocky Mountain Region :
a.      Air Quality Permitting, Compliance and Enforcement Trends (Local, State and Federal)
b.      Climate Change in the Rocky Mountain Region/Western US
c.       Air Quality Monitoring
d.      Air Quality Modeling (Federal or State guideline revisions, advancements in model development, etc.)
e.      Industry-Specific Air Quality Issues (Emission Controls, Utilities, Transportation, Oil and Gas, Refineries, etc.)  
f.        Air Quality Rule Changes (Ozone Non-Attainment Area Designation changes, impact on permitting, etc.)
g.       Air Toxics 
h.      Air Quality Evaluations under NEPA
i.        Air Quality Impacts and Health (pandemic concerns, increased wildfire smoke events, etc.)
